When they work, they are among the best headphones I have ever used.\nUnfortunately, the build quality has been a huge disappointment. The hinge/plastic near the ear cup has broken multiple times during normal use. I have had to repair it with glue several times just to keep using them. Now the microphone/audio during calls is also starting to fail.\nFor headphones in this price range, I expected them to last much longer. Great sound alone is not enough if the product keeps breaking.\nI would not recommend them unless Sony improves the durability of the hinge design.",

I picked mine up second hand in near-new condition and they’ve been 100% worth it.\n\nI think they’d be perfect for long-haul flights in business class with a lay-flat seat setup. My only real downside is they can feel a bit bulky in a window seat in economy when you’re trying to lean against the wall or get comfortable. Besides that, sound quality, comfort, and noise cancelling are all top tier.",

The sound cancelling is excellent, the mics are great for conferencing, the auto reconfiguring is a fantastic feature. Having them on plane trips, in an office environment, or next to anything that hums is a miracle. That being said it has a few little things that could be better. The earcups are too shallow & the band is tight so wearing for a long time starts to hurt - I never experienced this with the previous XM4's, so I bought deeper earcup foam to mitigate it mostly. Also the mics would be great if they worked as an xbox mic when connected with a cable. It seems odd to have such advanced mic technology to have to use an inline mic. If these issues are resolved on the following models they would be unbeatable, but still definitely worth the purchase.",

      "text": "I broke the last pair of headphones I owned… when I enquired with Sony about getting them fixed they offered a really great discount on just replacing them. So, I went for it but the first time I put the new pair on I noticed a buzzing sound in the left ear. I’ve been calling, emailing and chatting with Sony almost daily and struggling to get them to commit to just swapping them out for a new pair. I know these things happen but I don’t understand why I have to continually chase them to get this sorted. I just want a new pair of headphones that work without static or buzzing. #sigh",

Your sales workflow in the online store doesn't appear to accommodate such a circumstance for existing members. I now recieve emails like this, and all of the helpful informational ones for new owners twice as if I'm a new user/owner, whereas my own set of headphones was already registered through the site and app. It's quite annoying, and I imagine a real pain in the neck to try and sort it out with your systems. So hopefully it will stop when the recipients register their ownership.",
